The ranking system in MillionYou promote users which movies:
- won a prize, nomination or award,
- have been highly rated by users.

Ranking system works as follows:
When adding new movie user gives names of film crew and cast with roles assigned to them. In example: John Doe – director.
After entering the competition or general directory of MillionYou the movie is subjected to the continous evaluation by users. These ratings have an influence on user's rank in the roles in which he starred in the movie. If the movie in which user has participated as director and screenwriter is highly rated, then in these two roles user is given a special bonus as high as the movie rating is.
Example:
John Doe is a director and screenwriter. His movie has 5 points in user rating. John Doe is given 5 points to film directing and screenwriting on his profile (added to already existing points in these categories).
Points are constantly updated.
Each and every user is able to choose up to three roles/specialties, such as: director, screenwriter etc. For chosen specialties there is a converter of accumulated bonus expierence points.
Example:
John Doe is a director and screenwriter. He has chosen „film directing” as one of his specialties. His movie has 5 points in user rating. John Doe is given 10 points to film directing (5 points (film's rating) * 2 (for choosing film directing specialty) and 5 points to screenwriting.

When the movie is nominated to the contest, the value of individual scoring is increasing.
After winning the following places in the contests, we are using the following conversions of user ratings:
1st place – multiply by 5,
2nd place – multiply by 4,
3rd place – multiply by 3.
When the movie is nominated but did not receive any awards – we multiply by 2.
Example:
John Doe is a director and screenwriter. His movie has win 1st place in competiton and has 5 points in user rating. John Doe is given 25 points (5 [film's rating] * 5 [for the 1st place in competition]) to his profile.
